Since beginning part time teaching with the UTAS School of Architecture and the TAFE Tasmania building design course in 2007, Scott has taught in over 70 units on the topics of design, drawing, building, and sustainable design.
Since 2021 Scott has been sharing co-ordination duties for the UTAS online subject called Sustainable Design for Houses that serves hundreds of students around Australia each year.

As part of the teaching role, Scott has been involved in the design of assessments, and prepared over 30 lectures on some of his favourite topics including :
. Drawing
. Design analysis
. Designing houses
. Designing libraries
. Designing theatres
. Designing heritage renovations
. Designing elevations
. Design for climate
. Gardens
. Greenstar rating
. Sustainable design

Teaching architecture remains central to Scotts work and provides constant inspiration for the real projects completed alongside.  It is a privilege to teach, and see students develop their skills over their years of study.  New insights are gathered each year in helping students to solve the complex design problems of theatres, libraries, housing, and other building types.
